UNICORE 6 Roadmap

Since August 2007, UNICORE 6 is available. Its current release is 6.1.3. Please, have a look in the Download section for release details. UNICORE 6 is fit for production use, and includes stable, high-performance data and execution services. Various clients exist, from the graphical, Eclipse-based client to command-line clients and programming APIs.

Regular releases are made approximately every three months.

The next release will be a major one (version 6.2.0), which is targeted for early 2009. It will bring improvements in the following areas:

Ease of administration (e.g. dynamic service deployment)
Better integration of the Common Information Service (CIS)
New data staging options such as UDT and GridFTP
Improved storage functionalities
Enhanced workflow features
